Sayfarer Privacy Policy

Sayfarer is built to work without accounts and without tracking you. This policy explains what little data the app touches and how it's handled. It applies to the Sayfarer apps for iOS and Android, published by Ripper Apps.

Information we collect

No account is needed, and the app does not collect your name or location. It receives your email address if you choose to add one to a phrase report, described below. The phrases you save and your app settings are stored only on your device and are not transmitted to us.

Contact form and phrase reports

If you use the contact form on sayfarer.com, the email address, name and message you enter are sent through Web3Forms, a form-delivery service, to our email inbox. We use them only to reply to you.

In the app, “Report a problem with this phrase” opens a form that sends a report through the same service to the same inbox when you tap Send. A report contains the reason you pick, any comment you write, the phrase (language, region, category, phrase ID, and the English and translated text), the app version and build, your device’s operating system and version, and the app update ID, channel and runtime version. The email field is optional and is there for when you want a reply. Reports carry no account details, name or device identifier. We use them to correct phrases and to reply to people who left an email address.

Purchases

Unlocks are processed by Apple through the App Store on iOS, and by Google through Google Play on Android. Apple and Google handle your payment details — we never see or store your payment information. We receive only the confirmation needed to enable your purchase on your device.

Analytics & third parties

We may use the standard, aggregated reporting that Apple and Google give developers — App Analytics in App Store Connect on iOS, and Play Console statistics on Android. It is aggregated and does not identify you to us. On iOS you can stop sharing it in Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking SDKs.

Children’s privacy

Sayfarer is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Data retention & deletion

Because your data lives on your device, deleting the app removes your saved phrases and settings. There is nothing stored on our servers for you to request the deletion of. If you have emailed us, used the website contact form or sent a phrase report from the app, ask and we’ll delete those messages.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we’ll update the date above and post the revised version on this page.
